How To Get The Most Out Of Bodybuilding Supplements?

{ Posted on Apr 17 2010 by Fred Martimes }

Bodybuilders who are new to the sport, often buy dozens of expensive supplements hoping to get on the fast track to a built body. More often the not this resuts in hardly no gains at all and just a lot of wasted time and money. The reason for this is because supplements have been designed to maximise a bodybuilders nutrition alongside a workout routine and high protein diet. You can’t just take them and expect to get massive.

I am not saying that you can’t use supplements to get better gains in bodybuilding, what I’m saying is that first you must have some other things sorted out. You need to create a healthy diet and you need to start using a solid workout routine.

Once you have your exercise and diet plan on paper and are going to the gym often, you can check out a few supplement. But it’s really critical that you have been doing your workout routine and eating your diet first, because these bodybuilding products will only ever ’supplement’ that.

You may be wondering why I am advising that you never begin bodybuilding using supplements. It’s because it’s a mistake that I myslf have made and the failure can knock you back and steal your motivation. I bought 2 pounds of whey supplements and had the idea that by taking it alongside a few exercises I’d start growing. But I saw no gains at all.

The month after a decided to stop using them and design a proper eating plan. I included some high protein foods like red meat, fish and cheese whilst also making sure I ate enough fruit and vegetables. By doing this I began to feel much better as well as notice some significant gains at the gym.

I continued this way for a while really impressed with my results. I worked on my exercise routine and began designing routines that pushed me to the max and gave me those most gains for time and energy spent.

When I had been doing this for a few more months, I made the decision to give supplements another go. I wanted to test them out to see if I could build upon the results that I was already getting. 1 month later I have packed on seven and a half pouns of lean muscle! And whilst my gains have slowed up a little recently, I am still building my body at an alarming rate.

So hopefully you now realize that whilst supplements can build on the muscle gains that you are already getting, you do need a good diet and exercise routine first. And once you’ve built up some momentum, begin to maximise your results with bodybuilding supplements.

If you are all set with a diet & exercise routine, then you might find protein supplements are the next step. If so, then I recommend you read about Optimum 100% Whey protein powder.
