Female Abs – Tone Up And Feel Good!
If you are a female and looking to get those female abs ripped you should proceed with caution. Reason being that a woman’s extra layer of fat that is natural to her body can tend to get a little bulky if worked out too heavily. You should look for the lightly toned female abs as that is generally considered more attractive and appealing on women. When you do the mind numbing crunches you will not really be able to get the abdominal muscles that much bigger anyway.
Watch what you replenish with and working out at least 3 to 5 days a week will get you to get rid of some of the fat in your mid-section. Just take it easy when you are first starting.
“You are what you eat” as many of the health and fitness gurus have told us, and for the most part they are spot on. To get that fat down from the female abs cut out the greasy food, the fries, hamburgers, onion rings type of grub. Reduce your carbs, sodium and alcohol content and along with feeling much better physically you will increase your metabolism along with your energy level. It is believed that caffeine and green tea drinks will increase your metabolism thus allowing you to burn up more fat in your core furnace.
When doing crunches for the abs you need to do them in slow motion, gripping your muscles, breathing slow and rhythmically as you are tensing. Lay on your back, with legs bent under at the knee, feet positioned with the soles on the ground, hands folded together in back of your head. By Bringing yourself up touching your right elbow to the left knee, then going back to the flat position and doing it again with the other elbow to the opposite knee, you will have achieved two reps.
If you want to target the lower back more, then you can do leg raises which are also a good workout for the abs. Just position yourself on your back with hands again clasped in back of the head, legs closely held together and sticking straight out. With both legs together lift them about 4 inches off the ground, tensing the muscles as you go, then slowly lower them back down to the floor. Do repeat sets of 10, take a break, then do another ten. You will definitely feel this exercise in your abs and when you do then make sure you eat more bananas.
You will also get your whole body into shape if you involve running, cycling or swimming which, of course, can be easily done in the gym of your choice. Start out taking it slow because you want to ease your body into fitness, not punish it or wrangle it into submission.
Shoulders, wrists, and arms can be built up with the famous push ups that you are taught in high school. Chin ups are an excellent way to tone the upper arms, but do be careful as too many reps will cause your muscles to get sore and stiff the next day, which doesn’t do much toward inspiring you to go back for more.
Remember to replenish your body after each exercise session with protein (peanut butter is great), juices and a some bananas for magnesium and potassium. Stagger the days you work out and then vary your ab exercises. It is not the hardest thing to do to stay in shape, but it will keep your figure toned and prime your body for some new exercises and sports such as tennis. That’s definitely a sport that will be get your muscles toned! Especially if you want to get down the pounds in a hurry. The constant starting and stopping burns fat extremely well. That, however, is information for another article.
